In 1997 at a conference in Cerisy, Jacques Derrida asked his audience what happens, “… at the moment when, caught naked, in silence, by the gaze of an animal, for example the eyes of a cat.” Now, in a moment of suspended reality, Rieck inspires this same sense of immediacy that the cat’s gaze does.
